Finished wall

It really pays to have someone come and provide the expert service you are needing. We now have a finished wall on the west side of our backyard and it has such a finished look to it. And, they managed to put it in between the rain we keep having on the weekends. I'm afraid his horseshoe days could be over...

Now our work begins, besides removing those wooden posts from the previous horseshoe pit, we hope to have a garden this year and do some terracing down the slope on that side.

But this weekend, Ken and I are hoping to enjoy some baseball, if it isn't rained out!

Brick by Brick

I am fortunate to have contacts amoung the family that serve to advise me on things I know little about. (must be a large a family?) Thanks Jerry. We're going with the red flagstone in the center for the cap.

Valentine's Day Brunch

Stephen, Marissa and Aaron joined us for a nice little V-day brunch at the house. Helen broke out a new breakfast casserole that rated high (Marissa requested a repeat for her upcoming birthday). We looked through some artifacts that surfaced when clearing closets for carpet-laying. Helen is coming with me this week to San Diego - as I'll be working out of the Rancho Bernardo office Mon-Thur. We're looking forward to a little change of pace and an evening or two in the Gas Lamp district and maybe Old Town. Also included are a few shots of the beginning of wall construction in the back yard. The plan is to follow this with some terraced garden landings in time for spring - if college baseball season doesn't slow us down. (Fullerton opens this Friday against Oregon, who stole our coach a couple of seasons back with a boat-load of Nike money.)

Happy Valentines Day to everyone

A sunny 83 degrees today with snow-capped mountains to the north - that's what it is

Veggie sausage, garlic, cheese, egg and some other goodies I don't remember - a keeper.

Foundation "keys"

The old stack & lock wall is history. See some of you soon and some of you later.

Update @ Home

Well we have gotten back to regular routines. But this year we are into updating items in and around our home. We have started with new carpeting. Now anyone who has been to see us at this house (we've been here 10 years) know that we have grass green carpet throughout our house. We have finally gotten a chance to change and we chose a sandy colored pile. It has sure lightened up the atmosphere, now, how it will standup to the run-thru of 4 boys and a little girl we will see.

And soon that will be 6 boys and a little girl..... (that would be the Elwell boys and London moving up to the Elwell boys, Abner, and London & Ewan) ...with another to come!

Before - the wonderful grass green carpet

You can't tell the color well, but Ken was enjoying it!
