We took our cruisers to the beach and had a beach-side picnic and then rode from Newport Beach to Huntington Beach and back. Aaron and Stephen gave me a mini grill for the deck (perfect for quick-fire challenges) and Helen found a very nice fishing reel for me to break in during our upcoming trip to Oregon and Montana. All in all - great sunny Father's Day.
Aaron's Play Review
I have had several people ask me about the recent review from Aaron's play. You can find it at this link http://ZombieJoes.com The hard copy of LA Weekly will be on stands today, for those of you living in the LA area. We were very happy that they gave it a "go" and know this is only the beginning for his career.
(North) Hollywood Night
Stephen and Marissa joined Helen and I last night to enjoy Aaron's performance in the play A Memory of what Might Have Been. Aaron played the male lead as a famous artist who had gone to Mexico with a love from his youth - having left his family to pursue this relationship - the guy is in conflict. This is basically a romantic thriller but a comedic angle develops as a struggling / delusional playwright that is staying in the same coastal hotel is using Aaron's "fling" as a backdrop for a disjointed play. It was very fun to see Aaron performing again.
Home from Home
I have finally returned from Tulsa after a wonderful stay with my folks, along with my sister from Montana. We (along with our brothers, yes they did help) had a small Open House (85 attended) for the celebration of their 65th wedding anniversary.
Besides the party, my sis and I also found time to take in some memorable Tulsa & Claremore sites; Philbrook, Will Rogers Memorial, The Pink House (tea house establishment), Dillards, Penneys and Macys, and other stores. We also managed to eat out at Coney Island.
The Open House-65 years
Family dinner out on the 1st of June (the actual anniversary date)
A mansion we toured in Claremore
A short rest stop at the Philbrook Art Museum
We each also got to visit with other family, and friends from the past which we never seem to squeeze in. Enjoy some pics from the party and my visit.
A family time with the Campbells
A quick trip to Broken Arrow to say hi to Uncle Charlie & Aunt Shell
Mom with Randy & Karen Webb from OKC who graciously brought
Dick with them, a wonderful surprise for my folks.
Dad, Mike & Vickie Robey and Cleo. Vickie was polite enough to be our
photographer for the party. I can't wait to see her pics.
